Ti Stakes Deforming
Holy melting metal Batman. Look what happens to my titanium stakes when I use them as a Heine pot support with alky stoves. What gives?

Re: Ti Stakes Deforming
Some say bad fuel, some might say bad metal to begin with. Annealing caused by heat. The grade of metal may be such that it's being effected by the temperatues generated under your pot.
I was kidding about the bad fuel
Sometimes dual purpose doesn't work out as well as expected.

Don't you know you are supposed to roll them over every other time you use them for that..or save those for pushing in around rocks...
Appears you'll need to suffer the weight of packing a couple extra steel nails for that purpose..

Only if tiny sold you the stakes...zelph wrote:Some say bad fuel,

I noticed this the first time I used tent stakes for a pot support. Had worse luck with bicycle spokes!

I used 1/8" square stainless bar-b-que skewers..they worked fine..

Re: Ti Stakes Deforming
Looks like they will no longer be considered for future use as multi-purpose. They'll have to stay with the stove kit and that's ok
