I have been following the 12 Days of Christmas Sale.

I got the email notice, for a clearance, today. I finally got into the clearance.

I have been having trouble getting in, all day. I suppose they are getting a huge response to the sale.

It looked like they had some good deals on their lighter-weight backpacks, especially on the clearance page.I have the old "Race" and "Speed" models that weigh about 2lbs each and made a larger one(I may never use) that weighs about the same.
The pieces of the Shangrila 3(fly,nest,floor) seem pretty cheap right now compared to their retail prices if someone needs to buy a tent system for more than one person..or the Shangrila Single..I still have the old Sierra Designs Starflight which is about the same thing(yes, heavier but a complete tent with floor in it and fly) and my homemade single wall copy(pretty much even the same yellow!).

I ordered the Shangri-La 3.

I read over at Trailspace http://www.trailspace.com/forums/gear-s ... tml#116235 GoLite is selling off their stock, because they will no longer sell the Shangri-La 3 in separate components. They will be only selling the complete system.

Last chance for a new Shangri-La 3 "flysheet" if you wanted one and put it off, as I did.

There was a big clearance sale last year.

Then they came out with design changes and some new items.

I usually purchase groceries twice a month. This month, I won't be buying groceries later on this month, instead, eating up backpacking food supplies.

I have wanted this GoLite Shangri-La 3 for it's light weight and features for me to try out my ideas for "small wood stoves for a hunters tents". The tie-outs for the inner GoLite Shangri-La 3 "Nest" I did not purchase look likely for tying-in a "dew cloth" on one side near the bottem of this tipi tent. Being able to tie-out the door looks likely for reflecting a small wood fire outside the tipi tent.

If I have an inner "bug net" it will only be for half of the tipi tent, because I need no tent floor at the entrance.

I already have "spring fever". viewtopic.php?f=50&t=5269

No more groceries this month.

I ordered it this month. :D

I am really excited about it. I think I will get the 2 3/8" diameter stovepipe and all the stovepipe fittings from Ti-Goat. He has 2 3/8" now. It is more suited for the small stove I like. The small stove I like is this one: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=4788 In spite of the fact, I think bending the sheet metal is more than I can do without a "brake" I really like this design.
