I'm sure we have all used some form of "Swiss Army Knife" at one time or another. I personally carry a Victorinox "Super Tinker" everywhere I go:

I was wondering if anyone else uses or used one. What make and model? Why you would or wouldn't carry one BPing. And, if you were to choose, what would you include in your dream swiss army style knife? Which model comes closest? Here are a couple of links to knives:

(The "Giant" on the second link is worth a look haha)
P.S. - we really should have a better spot in the gear discussion section for threads like this...

Re: Swiss Army Knives
The last one I found was this one and to me seems like one of the "picks of the SAK litter"-->

KL92.. European military issue..Has a 2-1/2" blade, large straight slot screwdriver, small straight slot screwdriver, bottle opener, can opener, and a pointed tool to pick knots out of tent lines, poke holes,etc.3-5/8" long by 3/4 high by 1/2"thick...69 grams..I have other smaller ones with all the blades..just never use all that "fluff".That small keychain thing in the picture carries the rest of the items and is more convenient in a pocket.
I wish the KL92 had a larger hole to hang it with..oh well...

Hey..how come they don't make one that'll store a needle and thread?..

They get close...but good question. My super tinker has a hidden straight pin spot I guess you could make work:

I find that the scissors are invaluable on mine. I would have to say the "Explorer" model comes closest to my ideal swiss army knife:

I really don't need the corkscrew, hook, or the smaller blade though. The little reamer is about as close as you get to a sewing instrument, but it's way too big to be practical.

Actually my other ones are as light as can be for me.. because I hang them off the wife's packs...
I let her carry the "tool kit".

A pink one would be less likely to be lost or STOLEN..
