So here is a good deal at $4.50 on a 66" wide roll now it's not ultralight but still good.

Most of the ripstop that I've purchased from wallmart has very small "squares" in the sewing pattern. I would guess they are about 1/8 inch square. The material that you show looks like it has 1/4 inch squares. What weight would the 1/8 inch stuff be any idea. Is there a chart that you know of that would give this kind of visual reference? I belive the "square" is formed by a larger thread size and is what prevents the material from ripping. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I'm guessing at this.

I saw on todays weather that Oregon and surrounding states are having some "weather".

Important to note, the 1.6 oz weight is BEFORE coating. This looks like regular 1.9 or 2.2 oz ripstop with a digital pattern.

The price is RIGHT BTW, almost a dollar less than OWF.

From what I've been able to put together - the small square stuff is polyester - the larger square material is nylon. I don't think any of it is silicone treated as it is. But at $1.5 to $2 a yard???? I can Scotchgard the heck out of it.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

Yeah it is prolly 1.9 oz per Sq Yd just like the 1.1 oz silnylon is 1.3 oz on a 60" roll

now it's not Cuben Fiber in weight or price ;) but if you like to stealth camp it would work well for you.

Oh yeah I think the 1/8" grids are Poly and not nylon
