I've gotten rid of a couple of my smaller boats(8' and 10' livingstons. I still have the 13' one and the 10 foot okoume Don Hill driftboat I built..too buried to dig out of the garage.A kayak?.I guess I could use one at the other house but I just haven't really done anything "waterwise" except haul out a surfboard once this year.I just haven't had the time.I could use a surf kayak (easier on the knees than surfboards)..but doubt you'd find one in the midwest.
We only went for our second hike this year on Saturday..about 4 miles of pouring rain(8 Mile Creek)..and we didn't bother reaching our destination due to the conditions;slogging up a vertical "Sasquatch"(big steps and roots) made trail,views would have been fogged in,eating lunch in pouring rain..no thanks).The only other hike was to "Green Mountain Lookout"(google that in WA state)..about a 8.6 mile hike.My knees have just not been up to par for serious hiking lately.

Sorry to hear your knees are bothering you, cuz. It might be time to bite the bullet and get the rod and reels out. I made the three hour round trip after work today to have my kayak inspected and given a Hull ID and a registration so I can test her out as soon as I have some free time.

Well the yak is officially registered. The basic registration is $20 for a sticker that is good for three years BUT if you ever plan on adding a sail or trolling motor, the cost is $33 for three years and you have a sticker plus the letters and numbers have to be put on the yak or canoe. I plan on using a trolling motor at times while fishing so letters and numbers it is

off topic a bit. I recently picked up a stainless steel "raise-lower" motor bracket for a full size boat. It was at the thrift store, I think I paid $6.00 I'll have to go out in the garage and check and get a photo of it.

Yes, I had it in the water at Acton Lake in Hueston Woods Park. I'm working on some modifications for electronics but bow season is upon us so the gears are changing.

Saw 7 turkey yesterday evening on the road inside the campground. Word from some boaters say crappies are not really biting well at all. I will try next week fishing off the dock where I created some underwater structure to attract them.
