Torcher Test

Postby zelph » Fri Jul 12, 2013 1:50 pm

My wife passes thin on to me today. She was reading some reviews on camp gear. This is one of the reviews:

This review is from: Open Country Weekender 6-Person Cook Set (Sports)
Bought 4 sets for our patrols in a Boy Scout troop. It's a nice compact/lightweight set.
After a weekend of car camping and cooking over an open fire the pot sets came out OK. One group of boys managed to start a grease fire cooking bacon (I don't know how that happened?) in the fry pan and it cooked off all the teflon coating. So, I don't know if a pan is supposed to withstand that kind of torture (torcher!) but it's basically ruined after one meal. I think after the fire started, they just watched it burn in the pan...cooool. The other three patrols using the same fry pan over similar fire did just fine. I would like to know if it's possible to buy a replacement fry pan though.
