I'm off on an adventure

Went to Omaha, NB and then on to Cheyenne, WO and then on to Salt Lake City, UT and now I'm in Las Vegas, NV. Tomorrow we leave for the Sequoia National Park.

My butt hurts from sitting in the drivers seat  Haven't camped much, just lots of driving.

Yesterday, we spent the entire day at the "Giant Forest" in the Sequoia National Forest. We were in awe all day long. The redwood trees are a sight that will be remembered forever and then some :D The scenery going up the mountains was awesome. Tomorrow we go to the Pacific Ocean seashore so my wife can see an ocean for the first time. :D

We would have liked to go north to the Olympic National Park but had to change plans to head eastward towards the Grand Canyon.

You probably couldn't see the ONP anyway..My grass is too tall out there...(hint..hint)
The wife is coming home tonight from Hawaii..but a friend stopped by and needs some work done on a rental about 6 blocks away..so I probably won't get up there to mow for a couple weeks more.. I'll have to look like this at the grass  ..and the dandelions.. :o
When I finally do go..don't expect to hear from me for a week or more..
I see you are making good use of your lifetime National Park senior pass...

Yes, I got the Senior Pass for $10 and wink at the pretty girl in the office

We went to the Morro Bay area along the coast and came upon an area south of the bay that reminded me of them photos you have posted of the Olympic shoreline. I'll post some photos in a few weeks after I settle down back in flat lands of Illinois. If I didn't have my wife along, I would surely head up the coast to your place to mow the grass for you. :D

The area south of Morro Bay is Los Osos and the cliffs were spectacular. Surf was up and white water everywhere against the rocky shoreline. Look at google photos

Yesterday we took the back roads to get to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Twas 30 miles of mostly gravel roads. :o (30 miles one way) The main road going to the rim was closed, locked gates across the road. Road opens mid May. We didn't know that until we got within a few miles of the barricaded road :o
