rust remove

Postby oops56 » Wed Sep 28, 2011 8:30 pm

Well my dutch pots got in bad shape rust been out in the weather. So my electroysis box got broke so built new one today one in the box now the pot on the left is in better shape then the one cooking. As you can see its better to use a battery charger with a battery works better the pot in the box may take 2 days was real bad. After they get all the rust must re season them

Do you have to take off the seasoned/baked on grease, the black stuff off first before electrocuting the pot?

why the charger used also while derusting?

Now that I think of it, using the battery will send maximum amps through the solution and the charger will help maintain the battery to some degree.

My wife is going to soak a cast iron griddle in vinegar to get the rust off. She needs to find a container to use for the project. She has 2 gallons of vinegar ready to go.
