Your suggestion not to stand infront of the fuel tank and the one about having the valve face to the side makes me think I want to stick to a non pressurised stove
I don't like things that go boom in the night

Good info Oops. I've never had a stove blow up on me but I will heed your advice next time I use a 123. I like pressurized stoves. I did have an alcohol stove incident when I tried to add more fuel and did not see the flame still going. I slept with 2 fingers in a cup of ice most of the night. Lesson learned !

What did you make with the plumbers cloth????
Cotton balls work just as well, cover with screen, refresh with new ones when necessary. Lot cheaper than the plumbers cloth.
