I'm new here but this whole stove thing is fascinating. If newcomers can vote then I would vote for Daren N's April #2 just for the pure, elegant simplicity.

Thanks Ridgerunner.
I'm more a woodworker than metalworker so I haven't made any stoves. I own a Trangia and a pop can stove I was given several years ago. Darned if it doesn't work better than the Trangia. I've also had kerosine and gas stoves in the past but these days swear by alcohol. I'm constantly amazed by what I see here, not to mention the skill and ingenuity. Anyway, just love to visit and admire.

Roy and Darwin888; echoing Ridgerunner's welcome.

Roy, is it possible that you and I were friends even before your vote for my stove? :) could you possibly be the "Roy" who started me down this path of fire and alcohol by introducing me to your Trangia? master boat-builder who lives across on the north side of the big river?
if 'tis thee, Sir Roy, i thank thee wholeheartedly.

i can honestly say i don't know anyone named Darwin, but i thank you for your vote.

Oops56. thank you sir! a vote from The Master Stovie is worth more than you can possibly know.

Zelph. than- --- for the 1/2 vote ;)
