I might be able to get closer to the performance of the ION stove from Sgt. Rock.

What is the performance of his stove?

just tinkering wrote:The ION Stove will boil 2 cups of 70 F water using 10-12 ml and will remain boiling for 60 sec after reaching 212 F. It takes about 8:30 to reach a boil.

I have tried to make his stove with little success. To make it, I would need to make a dilator for that 6 oz juice can.

Thanks for the link and info. Here is a quote from his site, the emphasis in red is mine:

Boil:
70°F (21°C) or above.............0.3-0.4 fluid ounces (10-12ml)..…~8:30
35°F to 69°F (2°C to 20°C).....0.5-06 fluid ounces (15-18ml)......~10:30
Below 35°F (2°C)…………......0.7-0.8 fluid ounces (20-24ml).....~12:30
**Note: these statistics assume you are using a windscreen and reflector**

Before Use: Ensure you read all warnings on the back of these instructions. You may also need to trim the windscreen. Cut the windscreen so that it is tall enough to reach the bottom of the pot handles. The screen should be long enough to wrap completely around the pot and have ¼” for an air gap all the way around the pot. The Windscreen has holes along half the length, if you need to trim the windscreen, you should trim equal lengths from both ends.

All viewers should take note on what Sgt. Rock did to achieve his results.

"just tinkering" was there anything out of the ordinary you did to achieve a sub 15ml fuel usage?

Appears I have to preheat my water to get better results...
I am thinking that heating up the alcohol vapors prior to combustion is a way to increase stove efficieny. I am still trying to figure this one out.

JT..look at my last posting on the Sheba thread...
