I have only found a few sources for Titanium on the web. Titanium Goat being one, and some Ebay metal place the other. And nothing local.
I also have not had much luck on Stainless Steel also.
I am looking for Titanium and or Stainless Steel Foil, from 36 gauge (.005 mil) to 24 gauge (.020 mil) I am trying to make a Cone shaped wind screen that I can use for both my Alcohol stove or a small twig fire. I have Aluminum flashing that is about .10 or 12 gauge flashing (HD roof flashing) and it works to support the pot and use the alcohol stove, but I don't think it will work for a wood fire. Although not really sure and plan on trying it out soon. But this setup did not save me any weight from my old pot /stove holder and the windscreen, it was exactly the same weight. Complete Stove kit 15.1 oz. And they both boiled 2 cups (16 oz) in 6:30 give or take a few seconds.
I am hoping that the stainless steel would be lighter given it's a lot thinner, but if not I may have to move up to titanium. Any links or even just names would be very helpful.

Hey Wolf,
It seems unusual that your boil times did not change since the cone shaped windscreen pot-holder forces more heat against the sides of the pot. What was your previous set up?

Paul

Titanium Goat
Check out the photo on his home page. I thin it's in Utah. Easy to tell where you are located without a compass
