Merino wool socks - Any recommendations?

Postby sudden » Wed Apr 20, 2011 12:16 pm

Just wondering if any of you have an opinion on merino wool.

I was thinking of getting some socks but most of the reviews I found so far complain about durability (not just socks but shirts wearing out under backpack straps).

Is there a brand out there that has the durability problem solved without losing the benefit of the wool?

Thanks

I see a DIY modification project coming on. Sew in a protective something on the areas of wear and tear. shooters jackets, shirts have the pad sewn into the shoulder area. 1,000 deneir nylon would be sufficient.

To reduce wear on socks have several pair, change twice a day. Let the first pair worn dry out for the evening hours just befor sleeping put them on.
