The philisophy of lightweight backpacking?

Backpacking is more than just about gear. Here's a forum to talk about the "philosophy" of lightweight backpacking.

 If you only knew..quite the opposite... I was fixing another REI tent, replaced a zipper head on the door's window and sewing up one of the pole sleeves..good shape now.
I've got some outside work then if I get time..back to finishing the tent projects..once my mind is back into it.I might head up to the peninsula for a few days next week..check things out up there.

Hi guys. Sorry for bumping this thread, a lot of time has passed, but I found it ocasionally and would like to tell my story. The philosophy is good but it's important not to danger your health and life.

The subject of ultra light backpacking comes up in our Boy Scout Troop quite often. I think it's a great goal. Just remember to try out your gear to make sure you are not without something you will need during your trip.

The purpose of the camp out was to try out his gear. The weather turned bad and he was able to find out (with out putting himself in danger) the limits of his set up. His pack is now a little heaver than it was before, but he is prepared for less than perfect weather.

Also, anyone know when I can find canadian online casinos, for example like this one - casinosranker.com

I hope it was helpful.
