Howdy! Found this site when looking up info on why my aluminum can stove stopped working on our last trip out. Well, it got the water hot enough for oatmeal but didn't work like it has in the past. Going to have to try the fancy feast stove!

It was the 2 ends of dr pepper can pressed together with the internal wall. In looking at it closer, I think it got a little beat up in the fire box. We have a box of misc stuff that the kids can try their fire building skills. I think the stove got bent on one edge causing it not to burn correctly. I will "have to" make another 2 (or 3 or 6).

yes, the more you make the better they get. I recently made a stove to burn charcoal during fire bans here in Mississippi where I'm camping out for the winter :D

So this is the place where all the fettlers end up! I should fit in ok.Been tinkering with "meths"
stoves,as we call ethanol over here in the UK,for a while.Hope to learn a few tricks of the trade off the
Stovie knights and wizards,and the King Zelph himself.Been a keen hiker/backpacker for along while
and always searhing for the ultimate lightweight setup for the least outlay.Looking forward to the accumulated
wealth of knowledge and ideas.

My wife benefits from my stove habit........I cook for the 2 of us when the stoves are being tested :D she likes not having to cook. I like watching water boil :lol:
