Nice picture. I hope realityguy is still around here. He's done that type of work before. Last I heard he was building Uke's out of strange wood species.

That turned out really nice for a pinhole  What length of time was the exposure? Got a photo of the camera, pretty please :D ....and more pinholey photos....that's a lost art :o

Is that a waterfall way out there on that hillside?

I think realityguy might be on the big island plucking some fine tunes under the palm trees. Have not seen him here in a month of Sundays. :o

Yes, waterfall on the hillside.
I don't know the time, the kodak tri-x is fairly forgiving.
Probably about 15-25 seconds.

The lens is a 1" square chunk of coke can, hand pieced with sharpened tungsten wire on a holga body.

I broke the homebrew connection to the tripod on day 1, so I only have 4-5 pictures from the trip.

Recently on "antique roadshow" there was a vintage box camera with a bellows. It was about a 8"x8" box and had a lens cover that was removed by hand to allow light in for the exposure and then replaced when the exposure time was up. Very nice vintage camera of the past....so cool.

Nice exposure! You got that one right!Did the holga have its lens in yet..or true "pinhole" lens? If you drilled it..how big?
I still have several pinhole cameras..mostly 4x5,5x7 but go up to 11x14..For a while I was making them and fixed focus ones( wide angle 90mm large format lenses mostly)and sold a bunch on ebay.I didn't do as much pinhole shooting as I should have and still have a LOT of old film and cameras..but the darkroom is half full of ukuleles now.(left side ukuleles, right side enlargers.. )
I always figured when I "totally" retire,I'll drag the big cameras out and start shooting again... I still have an undercounter freezer FULL of black and white plate and roll film, even a 2nd roll of Panatomic-X ..9-1/2"x200'.. at the other house..wouldn't fit in this freezer..

Okay..just noticed that thread is a couple years old..I more than likely won't get the answers from the poster...

RG, good that you saw this and posted. I'd like to see a couple black and whites you've taken with your pin hole cameras. Got any?

Time to get your big box cameras out and become a Jr. Ansel Adams :D

Look at some of his prints:
