Rutstrum Wilderness Tent: 5.5 oz 50% rayon and cotton in O.D. or tan?

I read about it in Paradise Below Zero. I also read The Wilderness Cabin and North American Canoe Country.

This correspondence PDF that has references to the Rutstrum Wilderness Tent. It has dimensions of three versions.

Outdoors-Magazine.com, descriptions are found in 1952/53 edition Way of the Wilderness and 1958 New Way of the Wilderness has a drawing. Paradise Below Zero describes the winter liner and stove. Once Upon a Wilderness has three photographs of the tent with its insect lining and he discusses some of his modifications over the years. http://www.oldjimbo.com/Outdoors.../Cal ... s-to-a.pdf p 6/11

http://tentsmiths.com might still make his tent, if asked.

This one is similiar to the Rutstrum Wilderness Tent. http://tentsmiths.com/period-tents-sutl ... tents.html

Here are more references to Calvin Rutstrum that may be of interest: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=ps ... 12&bih=595 He lived what other people only write about.

ConnieD, how is your Shangrala3 tent working out for you? Did you use it over the winter with a backpacking stove? :D
