One of the best VINTAGE GEAR INFO sites..

Postby realityguy » Wed Aug 22, 2012 10:40 am

Just received an email from a person that runs one of the best vintage equipment sites for information..You may want to bookmark this site--->
G'day,

Apologies for the group email, at one time you expressed interest in the website: http://homepage.mac.com/inov8/Compass/

I wish I had time to get back to all of you personally, but free time is not my most abundant possession at the moment. Anyhow, heartfelt thanks for your previous interest in my project, attempting to record the visual and chronological history of outdoor clothing equipment.

The main reason for this message is to advise that as of last month the old website address became kaput. It was previously hosted under the guise of my Apple MobileMe subscription, which is no longer available. However, the Compass website has since, March 2012, been hosted on a fresh domain I anted up for: http://www.inov8.au.com/compass . Please discard the old address and use this new one.

The website currently showcases over 70 brands of outdoor gear. Some brands have more than180 images, whilst others maybe only up to a dozen so far. Many more brands receive some passing mention in the Various listing. My web design application hints that there might be well over 2,000 images to date. A handsome proportion of which have been kindly supplied by folk such as yourself. Thank you for your contributions, you have made the site far richer with your input.

If you sent me something that is not yet showing on the site, apologies. I will get to it, eventually. That you are receiving this email indicates I haven't forgotten. I do chip away at the project as time permits, but as a voluntary, self funded endeavour, it sometimes drops down a peg or two in life's other priorities. But if you were due a follow-up email, then please kindly berate me, and I'll do my best to respond promptly.

Thanks again for your interest.

Regards,
Warren McLaren

PS. Yes, I am based in Australia, and No, that web and email address is not a typo.
While most Australia addresses are .com.au, the reverse is also permissible, hence the .au.com
