finn, I bookmarked your recipe for LOX, I'll have to try it someday. My wife is always talking about eating lox when she was kid. I thought it was just smoked salmon. Now I know better.

No oxtails, just cold smoked salmon.

:mrgreen: I looked it up after I had made the post but never got back to delete my goofy question. I love BBQ Ox tails. I'll have to look for some LOX next time I'm in Kroger's. Sounds like some yummy eatables. I've had smoked carp and it tastes great. I suspect all fish would taste good smoked, what's your opinion on that?

The wife makes a chinese oxtail stew...
We used to smoke a lot of salmon and steelhead..back when they let us catch it.. :roll:

My wife and I were talking about getting some lox to have Christmas eve. She decided fresh polish sausage, dumplings and poppyseed cake from the local "polish deli" I'm 90% lithuanian and the rest polish so the foods are in my heritage. :D
