LOOKOUT!

Postby realityguy » Fri Nov 12, 2010 8:07 pm

Well  ..a Sierra Designs Lookout CD tent..not a bad find.

Roomy for two(3 person is bs) but heavy at about 6lbs 8oz..easton aluminum poles and a nice set of easton stakes(9)..it came with a footprint that is dirty..I may just use it for a pattern for a new one.The tent has a couple flaws..two of the poles have sliding sleeves that cover broken spots on joining ends..works fine. The tent material and fly are fine..will get a quick wash but not bad..all zippers/screens/doors/ties/hooks(clip design) are intact.it can be used with just the footprint and fly...
The tent has a convertible skylight and a vent that zips up in the fly..got very good reviews except for the small vestibules(the back side really isn't one.).
Also picked up a 25" wide thermarest cover that will strap to your bag..but I only have one 20" one now so that will get destroyed for the nice 108" zipper for my next hammock.

It's actually a nice tent with an intact floor. It would be a shame to HACK IT UP when I have the BS miner's tent which is just perfect..canvas,high ceiling, roomy, and no floor!
