I really like shug's videos. Watch how he cleans his pot. I recently said all we need is a spoon and fingers

I do the same thing to clean mine. It is easier with a "shorter" pot unless you have a really long finger. Since I start my meal with making my tea, I have the used tea bag which makes a good "scrubby" if needed.

I would prefer using a tea bag. Hard to remember where my fingers were prior to making the food.

Posts: 8 Another Great video!, just a week to late for me. I went on the Manistee River Trail on the 26th and my whisper light I have had for 27 years caught fire from the flame to the gas bottle. Yes I thought I had probably over pumped it just a bit. I couldn't get it going again. It was my first time melting snow and I had spent 45 minutes doing it and it was almost at a boil before I ended up kicking it over to put out the flames. Then my alcohol stove had a flame like a little candle. I did not know about the keeping a ounce next to your body trick. I did not have it insulated from the snow very well so it tipped over. No hot food or hot drink that night, and NO HOT COFFEE the next morning!

The Fancee Feest has proven it's ability to perform in extreme conditions.

Shug is great. "MSR take heed, don't make me go coleman." All should take heed as the zelph wagon is getting busy.
As more start to use the FF (or starlyte) especially in extreme conditions when other stoves fail they begin to realize style points don't matter. Though I have to admit, I have been using my stove less and less and going back to using the campfire more and more. The stove still has a place especially first thing in the AM. The good thing is it really cuts down fuel use. Last summer on a 6 night (120 mile) trip, I carried 4 ounces of fuel and only used half of it relying mostly on my fire.

Shug mentions in his video the great tip to warm your alcohol fuel in a pocket for good results in extreme cold conditions
No doubt it was a peaceful hike as the only others to brave the -40 degree temps were the polar bears that are a bit further north
