Re: What the heck..why not!
I saw a YouTube video for a bushcrafters competition. The guy made a fire in a living stump. Dumb.
I made a critical comment, which he defended saying there was standing water around there. There wasn't. It was a video. I could see there wasn't standing water and the scene was dry.
I did say forest fires pop out later, even much later for the same reason it is bad to put a fire on anything except mineral soil. The fire can go "underground" in the forest material lying on top of the mineral soil.
I didn't look at the entire link, yet, but at least his stumps were severed and on concrete.
I just think it is a "bad example".

Looks like oops beat them to it.
I agree, why not. For people heading to a campgrounds it looks like a no brainer.
connieD, That was good information you provided.
Here's the outdoor woodstove we use during hunting season. A stream runs just behind us and we have plenty of mineral beneath the fire

You see the line that I put the red parentheses marks around, copy that and when you make a post you'll see a box that says youtube click on it and it and this will appear on a line in your text and will look like this: [youutube][/youtuube] your blinking cursor will be between the two boxes, now you just paste the code there. I misspelled youtube so that it would not show up as a blank white box.
When you view a youtube video copy what is between the = sign and the & sign and then paste it into your post as described.
It will look like this:
