Heat priming jet alcohol stove
Re: Heat priming jet alcohol stove
The narrow part compresses and speeds up the alcohol vapour . When it gets to the upper part it expands quickly and evenly.
Not quite as much pressure as the soda can one. However the air/fuel mix is better.
Il work on a better diagram later.

Here is the updated diagram.

Sorry for the delay. Photobucket was being difficult.
I managed to find a thin wall aluminum tube that i could heat and crimp the middle in order to make the hourglass shape.
So far the results are quite good. I do not get the blast torch like flame as you see in the soda can version.
However i get a kind of Ring or Fire about 1/4-3/8" off the top of the stove.
I'l see what flame patterns i can get once i get a few more end caps to drill holes in. So far i have 5 1/16" holes in a roughly circular pattern.
Enjoy.

Hi.
At the moment my prototype is about 4" tall and about 1" wide at the base.
Brought 450ml or 1.75 cups of room temp water to a boil in 1m 55s.
However it used up all it's fuel.
Efficiency wise, it is excellent in the fuel to heat conversion.
As for long term boiling. I would have to rate it as below average, not as useful as Zelph's remotely fueled starlyte.
Unlike the starlyte or a trangia clone that you can add additional fuel to. Adding fuel to a warm thermally pressurized alcohol stove is a major NO NO!.
As far as the best thermally pressurized alcohol stove designed goes. The copper coil type seems best so long as the tubing is large enough.

Could you post the video of that?

I'l see what i can do.
Re: Heat priming jet alcohol stove
About 18mL
I think i can fit 30ml max. I think.
Anything else?
I can't remember the amount of warm up time it had but it was something like 20 seconds.
