...and still have a rim that adds rigidity and accepts a tight lid. Right! Let’s get down to work:
Get some Luck's microwaveable stew. I’m partial to the chicken & dumplings.
Cut the aluminum rim off with a razor knife. Leave that bit of plastic inside the rim-you’ll need it later.
Turn the rim upside-down, place it on your Heinie, and and chop the pot about an 1/8” above the new rim.
Make 16 evenly spaced cuts down to the new rim, bend the tabs parallel with the top of the pot, and round off the corners of the tabs with your scissors.
Finish bending all the tabs over the new rim with some needle-nose pliers.
Remember the plastic left in the rim? Heat the rim with a pencil torch(a lighter will work in a pinch). The plastic will expand and seal the tabs in place.
Chop your Heinie...

I mostly use this method nowadays. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=590irrationalsolutions wrote:thanks
Here's how to do it and what you need:
-Cat food can
-Safety opener
-Dremel tool with two bits: a Diamond cut-off wheel and a Sandpaper 'flapwheel'.
-JBWeld
1)Open the can with your safety opener and sand the inside lip of the cat food can and the outer part of the Heineken pot.
2)Poke a hole in the bottom of the can for air relief.
3)Apply a thin, even coat of JBWeld to the inside of the catfood can with your finger.
4)Shove the can onto the Heinie pot as far as it will go. Carefully wipe off the excess epoxy, turn upside down and allow to dry overnight or longer.
5)With the Dremel, cut off the extra can as close to the rim as you can.
6)Switch to the flapwheel and sand the burrs off from the inside of the can working out. This will 'pull' the metal of the Heineken pot back over the rim slightly to lock it in place.
