Ok, I'll tell you what they are:

This is a watchmaker's wheel gauge. Gears in watches and clocks are referred to as wheels - toothed wheels. Before the era of interchangeability, each part was custom fit to each watch movement. If repairs needed to be made a wheel blank was obtained from a supplier and the watchmaker would then cut the required number of teeth into the blank. The watchmaker would put the damaged wheel into the gauge to tell the supplier what size he needed.

And I really thought they were guages for the diameter of pickles so you could use the appropriat pickle fork! :lol: Should have known we were back to the watchmakers tools! :roll:

We have a member that is into watch repair......I thought for sure she would chime in and take a guess. :D

i don't need no stinking pickle gauges! i just eat 'em. don't matter what size they are. 8-)

i really thought RG nailed it with the balance beam weights answer. oh well. :)
