Postby zelph » Tue Sep 23, 2008 12:29 pm

12 inches overall length. Hand tool. I want to know what it is, what it's used for.

If you know what it is tell us and win a stove. :D

Looks like it could be a handheld mortice and tenon joint jig for woodworking

It appears to be a tool for cutting the flat power belts used on old farm equipment. After being cut, the belt ends could be spliced together by placing the cut fingers into the spaces left on the other side of the cut. Then a long pin would be run thru the fingers end to end.

I already guessed at this one, so if this one is right it won't count. Could this be a portable metal brake?
Just a handy tool to make small bends in light gauge metal. The kind that a hobbieist might use.

I like your answer PM. I swear I've seen one of these before but I can't pull it out of the memory banks. Maybe, it's just because I've looked at this page a dozen times and NOW I think I've seen it before.

It looks like it may be some kind of mold or clamp. It flips open so it can be loaded and the spring loaded bale moves inward like the whole tool to is to be pressed against the table to compress something in the mold.

Is it to package bacon?
