Very well done Daren!!!

<A trap for taking live animals, the top and bottom both collapse, making the height just a couple of inches. It's placed in a shallow stream, when it's tripped the animal's leg is caught, after the top expands the leg is released and the elevation apparatus is activated, raising the trap several inches above the water. It's called a Gibbs Armadillo trap because of how it looks, but it was used for catching live muskrats so they could be transported to another area, patent number 1,765,144.>

I'll have another view of it posted tomorrow.

Here is the other view:

It's quite clever how it raises up out of the water when the trap is tripped.

thanks.

it was an educated guess, nothing more. i looked at what i could see of the system and it just said "trap". but, i thought it would catch the critter between it's base and the upper bands.

now i see the ordinary standard leg-hold trap that was consealed in the earlier pic.

It was a great educated guess, you've got a good eye and lotsa knowhow. :D

In the Africa movie with John Wayne, they captured monkeys with a rocket attached to a net. The rocket was pointed in the opposite direction everyone was expecting it to be. The rocket took off and up it went into a curved arch taking the net up and over the tree that the monkeys were in. Clever trap making :D

What was the name of the movie?
