Son Of Zelph Stove (Cobalt)

Postby zelph » Tue Jun 26, 2012 11:55 am

I've been slowly teaching my son how to make stoves :o He's been doing great at making the StarLyte.

He is now making the "Cobalt" and has put together a listing on ebay.

He has a great introductory offer. Stove and windscreen at a fantastic price :o

hehehe "Son Of Zelph" stove series :DB:

Read his reviews ;)

Great! I just bought one on ebay. My dad used to encourage me to build things to sell, that was years before ebay was thought of, so no good selling venues back then.

Thanks for keeping my son interested ;) I used to sell on ebay but family matters came into play and made me divert my time elseware.

The Cobalt stove is a much better stove than the White Box and the Bios stoves. It does not need to be primed like the other two.

I got my "SOZ" cobalt stove, very nice!. I see that it is different than my other cobalt. the SOZ has wicking material inside the walls, and a copper wick on the inside. The other stove does not appear to have the wicking material on the inside. Were some made without?

The originals were made without. Later the wick was introduced by a member from out west (Seattle), an engineer, his name is DaddyMnM The thread he created is

viewtopic.php?f=19&t=689&hilit=copper+wick

I incorporated his idea into the Cobalt, Cobalt blue Soloist and the GoTo stoves.

Minibullldesign made the same type of stove without the wicking material inside the walls. that's why he had to use a primer wick or tray to heat the stove up in order to get the jets to light quickly.
