WTB:rival Alcohol picnic Stove

Postby Username75 » Sun Dec 26, 2010 4:46 am

I am converting a Step Van into a Housecar, and would love 1 more Rival Alcohol picnic Stove.
they burn for an Hour each
then I could have a great 2 drop in stoves
they are much to big for backpacking,
have a grease pan inderneath the stove and a
snuffer .
its an open top very very large trangia made in
the late 60's and 70's
thanks for reading

I got a google hit, on the name only, at a marine hardware outfitter for boating.

As an older "used" item, it isn't something you would necessarily put on your paid advertising.

If you have marinas where you are, inquire: there may be something in a marina, a marine hardware store, a hardware store in a town near a marina, or a boatyard.

I have things made for sailboats in my travel trailer.

You may want to hit craigslist in specific cities(main page, you can search by city) around marinas.."alcohol stove","origo"...or the one you are specifically looking for.Nothing in Seattle right now except this one--->
http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/boa/2176089930.html

That one is about 10 miles from me...

Bear in mind that most people selling those stoves..probably have $20-50K yachts...Pretty honest group there..
Wintertime and the prices might be lower..in summer's they'll be using them and the demand higher to get one fixed for the upcoming summer season...

That's a fair price for the Origo double burner. I was lucky to get mine for 175
