Who will be the first to fill a balloon with 2 cups of water and boil it over their stove :mrgreen:

Let's try it with a ziplock, more backpacker-ish.

that's cool - but i'm going to make one of these for a pack. put all my gear in there and i'll be backpacking lite. :D
just have to figure out that extension cord thing... or carry batteries. maybe solar powered?

I tried puting a ziplock of water in a pot to boil it. It boiled but caused tiny pin holes in the bag where it touched the pot. It almost worked :D

Nice bmike, the other examples of the motors were cool.

It'll even work with a paper cup. If the water is below the edge of the cup though, that edge will burn because there is nothing (water) there to absorb the heat.

I made a stove out of paper once. I think it's in the Stove Works forum. It was a contest of sorts to make a stove out of paper :D

I used a paper cup as the burner filled with alcohol. I'll have to see if I can find that thread.
