The new HD ones

Postby sarbar » Thu Aug 14, 2008 10:26 am

The husband and I have been busy - we recently shot 3 new videos, the first ones is up (trail cooking episode #4), the next two will be coming out back to back weeks. We are hosting them on Blip.TV as we don't lose quality transfer - they are also in wide screen. If you have dial up it will be painful ;)

The next one, #5, will be an FBC meal. Expect it mid next week.

Your videos are turning out really nice. The wide screen is really a plus. Food looks delicious, you do a fantastic job and make it look easy. ;)

Kirk threatens me with the outtakes  The worst was up at Mt. Baker shooting episode #5 - I was covered in skeeter bites from the day before, wanting to itch, black flies hovering over me. On tape is me cussing after my spoon flew out of my hands into a pile of heather/huckleberries right as chipmunks were running for the table.

Episode #6 went much smoother except for a really huge raven that was above us, cawing loudly. Lol.......

 :D

Hey everyone, Episode #5 is up. It is a shorter one, FBC style. We had a technical glitch as I was wearing a new microphone so sorry about the sound halfway through! Next weeks Episode #6 went much smoother ;)

The story and recipe:

A couple weeks ago Kirk, Ford and I were up at Mt. Baker/Mt. Shuksan in the North Cascades here in Washington and shot a video on FBC style Chicken Alfredo Couscous.

Chicken Alfredo Couscous

In a quart freezer bag:

1/3 cup instant couscous
1 Tbsp dried onion
1 Tbsp dry alfredo mix (preferably organic)
1 tsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp dried granulated garlic
1 Tbsp dry milk

Also take:
3-ounce can of chicken (with pop top).
1 Tbsp shelf stable Parmesan cheese (in a small bag) or 3 packets

Bring 1/2 cup water to a near boil. Add the chicken with its broth to the bag along with the hot water. Stir well, seal tightly and put in a cozy for 10 minutes. Stir again and top with Parmesan cheese.

Serves 1.

Bean & Rice Burritos. If you can heat water, you can make this one :D

I can heat water without burning it so I'm going to be able to do this one

Hey you all...I did a couple cruddy ones shot on my cheapie camera - my husband has been so busy we haven't had time to finish editing the last couple High Def ones we shot. So when that happens I go shoot some myself.......

Chicken couscous 'salad' (done FBC style)

Chicken green bean mac & cheese (done one pot style)

By the way, I also moved my blog to a new platform a couple weeks ago - it is a LOT easier to work with now :) This has been what keeps me busy ;)
http://blog.trailcooking.com/ and also my new cooking-at-home blog too: http://gazingin.wordpress.com/

So yeah....anyhoo, hopefully we will have more HD films done soon.
