FBC Loaded Baked Potato

Postby Midway Sam » Wed Mar 19, 2008 12:50 pm

This is my version of Sarbar's Taters, Ham & Cheese.

In a quart freezer bag put:

1 package Idahoan Loaded Baked flavored instant Mashed Potatoes

Also take (in a pint freezer bag):

6 slices Oscar Meyer Thick Cut Fully Cooked Bacon (torn into small pieces)
2oz cheddar cheese (I take 3 of the Disney Snack Cheese Mild Cheddar Cheese, found at Kroger)

In camp: Cube the cheese so that it melts more evenly throughout the potatoes. Add the bacon and 2 cups of boiling water to the bag and stir. Add cheese and put in cozy for 5-10 minutes. Stir and enjoy!

Yield: Serves me hapily, but I'm a hearty eater.

Many, MANY thanks once again to Sarbar for introducing me to FBC. I used to ENDURE meals on the trail, now I savor them!

WoW!!!! that's one I will surely try. Bacon has a way of making me drool when I think about it

I agree, FBC is the way to go. Sarbar has made it a pleasure for sure.

I've been using the Idahoan loaded mashed taters for a long time at home and on the trail. They are my favorite flavor. Boy, have they come a long way with instant potatos in the last 20 years. I like the idea of adding real chuncks of bacon and cheddar cheese. I will have to give that one a try but I already know it's a keeper! ;)

Add some dried onion, corn and brown gravy and you have a bacon shepherds pie ;)
