I have used the FF to melt snow. The aforementioned advice is to be heeded. The amount of fuel? Think of it this way. You are changing the state of water from frozen to liquid (melt). I love the starlyte pro! Or is it the Red Giant? Whatever you call it, I love it. Especially the way it can be integrated with the woodgaz stove (which I still have to try to make one or just buy one to check it out.)

Dry food for our cats too. Although every once in a while I buy them a treat so they can have the empty can. Umm, I mean so *I* get the empty can. Ok maybe I am buying me a treat, but they seem happy about it too.
