Re: Odd stuff I might just buy

Google maps has topo maps already built in and it works well on Android phones. Combine this with MyTrack and Google Latitude and you can track your whole trip and update people on your location. Also there is a Geocache app from Groundspeak Inc. (From geochaching.com) http://www.androidzoom.com/and...

Re: Odd stuff I might just buy

Not any longer. You can buy older Motorola Android devices for as little as $30 From Verizon. They are certified pre-owned, another word for refurbished, but they come with the same warranty as a new one. Right now most of them are $100 or less but the deals change weekly. My in-laws gave me a hard ...

The wood seems to be of equal density/composition. I look at stoves a vessel/container for fuel. Light it and let it it do it's thing. Once ounce of fuel can only do so much heating. Same with alcohol. What matters is how the fuel is presented to the bottom of the pot. Distance to pot etc. naturall...

Re: Odd stuff I might just buy

JollyRogers , I have a USB charger that uses 4 AA batteries. I have used it for my phone, Bluetooth headset and MP3 player several times. Works really well with Lithium batteries. Okay, What is it? If you can find one they are only about $4. But it actually works well. http://www.dailycheckout.com/...

Re: Rook Stove wood burner

Thanks everyone for the compliments and the feedback. This stove is made out of stainless. The one shown was rolled by hand and tweaked to a roughly round shape. I just got my metal roller from Harbor Freight today... and it was wrecked. Looks as if it was delivered by mistake to another local compa...

Rook Stove wood burner

I have mentioned my new wood burning stove a few times now, I guess it is about time to show it off.

Re: GI Joe Stove

I just started sending stoves myself. Usually I send batteries, (only in the winter, summer is too hot and they can explode in the carton), good cigars, good coffee, wet wipes, (Wal-Mart has unscented bio-degradable ones for just a little over $2 a pack), nylon dress socks, Aloe lotion, cotton swabs...
