Re: Heads Up White Box Stove Owners
I'm sorry, but mixing alcohol and fire IS dangerous and i don't think you need a caution label to tell you that. You could accidently tip over any lit alcohol stove and spill flames everywhere. Doesn't mean it is the stove makers fault for not making a tip proof stove. As far as calling him a bonehe...

Re: Heads Up White Box Stove Owners
You learn quickly, as i'm sure he has, what not to do! As stated before, not the stoves fault, but human error! Whenever you work with flamable stuff, things can go wrong. Just hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I know that I am going to ask him if i can post his vid on my YT channel to sh...

The hole doesn't have to be round. It might be easier to make a trianlge if you have tin snips. I just happened to have a holesaw and a press.

Re: "Firebottle" thread from NWhikers.com
Sorry, i should have gone into more detail. I used the hole saw on a drill press. I made sure that the bottle was clamped so that there was no reason to get my hands near it. I have used a drill, but only in conjunction with a vise. Everyone is right...use the drill at a low speed and minor pressure...

Re: "Firebottle" thread from NWhikers.com
@connieD...thanks for all the likes! Most on this site will recognize this as a volcano stove diy project. The carbon felt is used to keep the alcohol from spilling if knocked over. Regular insulation can be substituted or you can go with out if you like. You couls use any type of alcohol stove as l...

Re: "Firebottle" thread from NWhikers.com
@realityguy...yes, the deeper the inner bottle went down, the harder it was to keep the flame going!

Re: "Firebottle" thread from NWhikers.com
The hole that is used to refuel the wood causes the alcohol stove to flare all over the place when set in the bottom. I put it up higher to eliminate that and send the flame straight up! I too thought about replacing the spokes, but having removable holders make it easier to get the stove inside the...
