zelph,thats a great idea---------I was thinking about somthing along those lines---------maybe using a rivnut? What would work great is a course threaded rivnut (so you wouldnt have to turn it so many times to get it to move full travel), but to the best of my knowledge, there is no such thing. Ill ...

I am working on a design for a wood stove, using a can as the stove body. The can will have draft/vent holes on the sides, near the bottom.
