Re: what the......?

Daren, I agree 110% with you! I was born and raised in Wisconsin, and everyone assumes that you actually LIKE that filthy white s__t. No way! It can be 30 below, or it can rain for 40 days, or it can be 110 in the shade, just don't snow on me. I finally escaped to Oklahoma, where we get about a week...

Interesting Tool

This is not a "Mystery Tool", but it might interest someone here. This is a link to a knife site that I use.

I have had this "tool" for a long time and figured that I would check with other collectors for info on it.

Re: The BudLyte Alcohol Stove

It looks as if you spent a LOTS of time on a lathe making dies until you got the right dimensions and degree on the initial fold. It is a REALLY nice job. CONGRATULATIONS !!!

Re: Fuel Bottle Idea

I just went back to Flikr and made a few more pics public. They are of a Case knife that came out of the factory with the blade upside down. It was not a fluke-look at the finger grips. When I wrote to the factory they said that the blade is made from steel that they had a while back (1950s). The ex...

Re: Fuel Bottle Idea

Thanks- a buddy of mine sent them. One of our vet group is a fighter pilot. He explained that as you go sonic this is what actually happens. It would be neat to see it in person.

Fuel Bottle Idea

I don't backpack myself, but a lot of the people on this board do. Here is an idea for carrying fuel. It is a Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner bottle. The height is 8 1/8 to the top of the cap-diamater is 1 3/8. It holds a little over 5 oz. I do not know if it is alcohol-proof or not. It does not have an...

Re: Mystery Tool 49

I'm three posts too late!! It is either to pull rope/wire taut, or to grab the side of some thin material(sheet metal, tin,etc.).
It appears to be in excellent condition. Someone spent some serious time and effort to make it look so nice.

Re: Mystery Tool 48

I already guessed at this one, so if this one is right it won't count. Could this be a portable metal brake?
Just a handy tool to make small bends in light gauge metal. The kind that a hobbieist might use.
