Re: Simmer device for 12-10 and StarLyte burners

Dan, I had the version with an adjustable high/low setting. Ineffective. Both settings let the stove simmer without any poofing or weirdness. Repeatedly got 30 minutes or so with 25ml of fuel in 60 degree temps. I would like to try what you have come up with. I'm sure others at the GGG would be inte...

Re: Simmer device for 12-10 and StarLyte burners

All those fair weather ultra lighters have their kit packed away for the season. I would imagine come spring that you'll have more interest in what you have done here. You are already dealing with a niche in a niche group. Don't be discouraged by the seemingly lack of interest. It's like selling sno...

Re: Gathering of gear geeks

Flame on! There has been a few real nice stretches of good weather in January the last few years. We are do to have one that coincides with the GGG. We already have had snow and rain in years past. I do believe it is the largest gathering of lightweight and ultralight hikers that gather around gear ...

Re: Gathering of gear geeks

Dan, we had 70 campers and quite a few more who came in for the day on Saturday. Have reservations for 80 this time around. Maxed out the limits for two group spots. Had to start a standby list. Ron Moak and Brian Frankle will be back again this time to show off the packs that the two of them have b...

Re: Hello there

John's a good guy. Crazy for cuben. I'm loving my Starlyte. Took it out for a weekend in the Trinity Alps. Only had to fill it twice. You got a winner with that one. Katharina had her simmer version on that trip too. It's been so dry here. Usually it's been raining for a couple of weeks by now. Had ...

Hello there

I've been living in far northern CA for the last 8 years. I've been an active poster over at Backpackinlight.com for a long while. I see that Sam Haraldson is here. Any others that frequent BPL here?
