those green tubes look like portable lights for runways and such, we use some that are similar to those for unimproved runways at night you can light two dozen and have landing zone well into the night... Ours are propane powered now but originally they where kerosene lamps. with the tops on to they...

I used asbestos fabric in my little micro starlyte stove works great.... Does anyone know what is in the SVEA trangia stoves? they wick and seem to release well... I have been playing with some stuff that is used for emergency insulation in airplanes. When wet, it becomes jelly, but dry is very ligh...

very cool idea.... I am totally gonna build one, on this concept.... I have an old jim dandy pocket blow torch that does not work but should make great donation tube for this project. except the jim dandy tube is stainless, might be interesting...
