All the stoves I've played around with shows me the hottest area of the stove is where the coals wind up. I meant to say I "broke IN" my micro stool. It didn't break, it was actually surprisingly sturdy.

Bonafide action shot. Note the absence of a truly flat, firm surface. The stability was fine, even out in the woods...

Well, had a short outing this weekend: did about 6 miles on the Pinhoti here in North GA this past weekend. Tried out some other new gear as well as the new stove so I was going a little heavy. I just walked around the yard and picked up branches that had fallen. Most were around 3/8". Also soaking wet. I expect even better performance from dry wood.

Have you been able to get a continuious burn with long twigs in order to boil 2 cups of water? Or did you have to use more twigs to get the final burn to get the boil?
