I heated some pasta, quinoa, and water in the Ridgeline, then capped it and stuffed it in my pack when we headed out. By lunchtime it was perfect, and still warm. I recall the Vargo is solid walls for the most part and small in diameter/hex dimension, is that correct? It is. I haven't tried the Vargo hexagon with wood yet, but it doesn't seem like it would do as good a job of burning it down to ash as your stove does. It's nice as a pot stand, mainly because...

I suspect that a lot of people bought it because even if you use it with alcohol, you get some advantages in terms of efficiency over most other stoves. I agree. But.......I have not found it to be efficient with alcohol because of the amount of draft created by the chimney. The carbon felt method ...
